~ Dragonfly Whispers ~
In the space between gravity and the moon
whispers ride on the backs of dragonflies
liaisons between two hearts
iridescent in repose
Alight upon the water, swim into its soul
become its reflection – merge as a whole
answer the needs its truth will show
carry forth its wishes, change the river
flow
Gravity cannot hold a heartbeat in flight
when the moon seeks to deliver fate
dragonfly wings match the hearts’ rhythm
as the whispers fall into place

Always right when two become - and tragic when if/when the one goes back to being two. Story of our lives
ReplyDeleteYeah, but when two become one, that story becomes magic ;)
Delete"Gravity cannot hold a heartbeat in flight"
ReplyDeleteI like that very much, Poet!

*Grins* Thanks, Eric. I had a hell of a time trying to figure out how to write about this topic. But then I decided to take some liberties with it, as I occasionally do, and tweaked it. lol!
DeleteThis is one heck of a holding pattern... Love where this took you. Great poem.
ReplyDelete*smiles* It took me a while to get around the topic and prompts, then one song lead to another, and the poem took off ;)
Deleteawesome!! loved it...so delicate and deliberate all at once!! :)
ReplyDelete"Delicate and deliberate" - I love that. Thanks C :)
DeleteThe gravity of your words never fails to pull at my heartstrings! Love the imagery here, and love you!!
ReplyDeleteHey, good use of 'gravity' in your comment - lol! Awww, thanks dollface. I love your poetry so much, and I love you back!! <3
DeleteDragon flies have always fascinated me..I used to sit on my patio in FL. and watch them lite on my clothesline in play. Or perhaps they were courting. They are beautiful as is this poem
ReplyDeleteThanks, Stormy. It's funny, considering how much I dislike bugs and bug-like creatures, but for some reason dragon flies have always fascinated me. I think they're mystical and amazing.
DeleteDragonflies are not very romantic. At least not in my book. However, you've given flight to your words here! 6 points, Earthling!! :)
ReplyDeleteMarvin Martian :)
They may not appear very romantic-looking, Marvin, but it's more about what they represent - change among other things, and they exemplify living in the moment. They're actually very amazing creatures ;)
DeleteYou are missing from me.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I loved that the moment I saw it :)
DeleteYou made my muse dance
ReplyDeleteAt the beauty of the day
As I sat reading your poem
And watched the dragonflies play.
A driftwood garden and my big toe set the stage
For the dragonfly ballet.
Impressed? Obviously... Awed? Absolutely!... Inspired? Well, Duh!
Let's see... 6 points from Marvin... A 5-second "Aahhh..." award (where you realize your mouth is still open and you have to reach up and close it manually) from me... AND a musing! Not a bad haul for a Sunday afternoon's musing!!!
Thank you for lifting my soul today! - turtle
lol! I've missed seeing you around. You make me laugh.
DeleteThanks, Turtle Dude ;)
